Early 1900s, American, from the Globe Wernicke Co., Cincinnati OH. Quartersawn oak sectional or stacking file cabinet, in the 299 style (quarter sawn oak, rich finish, brass oxidized hardware). Seven pieces total, starting from the bottom, including 1 base, 1 legal file section, 1 shallow/map drawer section, 1 vertical file section, 2 box file sections, and 1 top. Legal file sections include hinged tilting drawer fronts. Box file sections hold standard size paper and measure 8.75w x 11.5d. Boxes are made of a thick cardboard wrapped in a woven black covering. They are very sturdy and remain in very good condition for their age, with some having repaired/taped joints. Piece is in overall very good to excellent original condition, with original hardware and makers mark on the top. Some of the vertical file pulls may be period or modern replacements, and some honest wear to the top. Dimensions below for overall piece.
