Antique Globe Wernicke Stacking File Cabinet #502
Early 1900s, American, from the Globe Wernicke Co, Cincinnati OH. Quartersawn oak sectional or stacking file cabinet, in the 299 style (quarter sawn oak with brass oxidized hardware). Seven pieces total, starting from the bottom, including 1 drawer base, 2 standard file sections, 1 letter file section , 1 shallow/map drawer section, 1 paper tray drawer section, and 1 top. Large file sections include hinged tilting drawer fronts. Letter file section includes original clipboard style drawers with original hardware and original hand written notes. Tray file drawers can be pulled out and used as paper trays. In overall very good condition, with no common damage to the top. All sides are paneled and figuring of the quartersawn oak is excellent. Large file pulls and some of the side bands likely replaced in the past, with minor wood damage to both rear sides of base, as pictured. Dimensions below for overall piece.
