Antique Globe Wernicke Stacking File Cabinet with Barrister Bookcase #559
Early 1900s, American, from the Globe Wernicke Co., Cincinnati OH. Quartersawn oak sectional or stacking file cabinet, in the 299.5 style (quartersawn oak, rich stain, with brass oxidized hardware). Step back arrangement, with rare combined base and drawer section to bottom. Six sections total, including 1 large drawer base, 1 file card section, 1 shallow/map drawer section, 1 vertical file section, 1 barrister bookcase section, and 1 top. Six large drawers to the base. Left side of map section are metal drawers, right side is wood drawers, all with the quartersawn oak faces. Vertical files are metal, with quarter sawn oak faces. Piece is in overall very good to excellent original condition, top in very good condition with minimal wear. Base drawer pulls have been replaced to match the other pulls, the likely not original pulls that were on it will be included.
